MemberReturn of the King is the best hands down. It seems to be a mixture of the 1st two. As the first one was mainly story and the second was mainly action, it mixes together to form a great movie with a bit of both. The battle in the 3rd one is probably the best one i have ever seen.

ParticipantHow can you judge them individually, when they are but pieces of a whole? Best Trilogy ever, hands down. I personaly cannot choose a favourite section. I loved them each equally. 🙂

ParticipantI agree with Shifter. They each add their own importance and greatness to TLOTR as a whole. Up till now Back 2 the Future was my favorite trilogy, but I have to say the torch has been passed.

MemberI liked Two Towers the most because I think it saved the best part until the end (Helm’s Deep), and it was just more cool with the elves and all. Return of the King kinda had the big battle in the middle of the movie and the end of the movie was mostly dialect (although it had to be). Also the battle at Pelennor Fields didn’t seem as hard of a fight as Helm’s Deep….kinda seemed too easy with the ghosts.
But this is definitely the best chain of movies ever. Killed both Matrix and Star Wars.

MemberReturn of the King was the best one. It just brought the whole thing together.

MemberThese movies were all great, I have trouble between which I thought was the best, I liked the battle for helm’s deep in the two towers better then any in return of the king, but return of the king had some very good battle scenes. I liked what the two towers extended edition added to that movie, made me like it a lot more then I had from only the theatre version. It ended very nicely and left you satisfied as a movie should end. I didnt really like how the conclusion to the return of the king was done, I know it was the concluding part and needed to be there and I dont know how it could be better, but the movie just seemed to end at 5 points there, and then it kept on going after you thought that was it. I thought that was irritating, but the movie was great itself… hard to decide between the second 2 movies now for favorite.. I need to see when the extended edition of return of the king comes out…see what that has to add to make my final decision on the best. If the extended part adds enough to the movie, it would make it my favorite, but if it doesnt add to it at all, or worsens it any (I REALLY hope it doesnt do that) then the two towers would be my favorite.

MemberAnd here comes Big Spruso, the only one who thinks FotR was the best. I just saw it as a classic. But I’ll have to agree that you can’t really judge them all seperately.

Memberthe battle in return of the king was the best one out of all three but i agree that you have to treat the three films as a whole. Also…

sorry, everyones entitled to their own opinion (no matter how wrong they are)The Lord of the Rings movies just aren’t my type of movies. I’m more into the horror movies and comedies. My friend works at a movie theatre and he can get us in free. I went to see the first one with some of my friends and I fell asleep about a 1/4 of the way through it. They are just boring to me.

MemberYou should go 2 see the two towers or return of the king as they (in my opinion) are much better then the fellowship of the ring. The FOTR has to much dialogue in it for 3 hours of watching. In the Two Towers, the battle of Helm’s Deep should keep u watchin.

I liked the third better, precisely because of what lazyturbo said…we have just oposite ways of thinking…

ParticipantReturn of the King was by far, the best thing since sliced bread and PB+J.
