MemberI looking for the web site for a program that you share music without downloading. I have seen it on here but can’t seem to find it.

MemberI’m curious as to why you think you can play music without downloading, technically it’s impossible to get, listen/see something without downloading if you’re talking about files/streams over the net.
but i think you mean without saving the file to disk, like http://www.shoutcast.com and launchcast.

Keymastermaybe he/she/you means uploading? if /you/ do mean uploading (sharing files with others) you can disable uploading on WinMX (http://winmx.com/, no spyware) and most other P2P clients (read documentation, search google).
if he/she/you does mean downloading, /you/ may be interested in BitTorrent. if you have your own band (or any other type of group that shares digital files) this “network” will probably be the best for you. this is because you can share you music (and w.e. you want) with tons of people without wasting tons of bandwidth (as long as you have seeders). seeders are clients that are sharing your files. if your band has a couple members and fans, they can help distribute your music. this way you’re not downloading anything of value from the RIAA (or anyone else) and you are sharing your music (and other junk) with the rest of the /world/.

Keymasterice-cajun, could you be referring to Microsoft’s discontinued threedegrees project? One of threedegrees innovative features allowed you to create a shared playlist with the friends you were chatting with, and the songs streamed to everyone in the chat. It was really a very cool concept, though threedegrees itself didn’t take off in a big way.
Sadly, even the official http://www.threedegrees.com site is no more.
