This question is pretty basic so I apologize in advance.
A buddy was transferring a file to me. When I agreed to receive the file, a message printed in my AIM window similar to this one I’ve made generic:
sendername wants to send file C:Documents and SettingsMy NameMy Documentstemporarymusic.mp3
receivername received C:Documents and SettingsMy NameMy Documentstemporarymusic.mp3
My problem is that I had not shared my full name with my buddy in order to maintain some privacy, and it appeared in the path where I saved the file on my personal computer. Does both sides see this file transfer message in the AIM window? Or just me?
I tried it by sending a file from my one computer to my other one. The results I got were that the file path of the file the sender is sending will appear in both the “sendername wants to send file” and the “receivername received” of their IM window. The receiver will see the file path that they choose to save the file too in both the “sendername wants to send file” and the “receivername receivedof their IM window”.
To put it simpler, the sender only sees the path of the file they are sending and the receiver only sees the path to where they are saving the file. That’s the results that I got, that one can not see the others file path.
