MemberI can send a file transfer to you on YM but if you send me a file trasfer, example, a jpg file, I get a box that says I can’t down load it, or it will download it and when I open it up, it has a “red x” in the box. What’s up with this? I have YM on my other computer and it works ok, and I made sure all the setting were set correctly on this HP Computer. Please help me solve the problem.

MemberMaybe the version of yahoo messenger you are running has a corrupted file. Try these two things I suggest, You can uninstall and reinstall the version you currently have or you could try an older version of yahoo messenger. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your response. It all started about a year ago, so I used my recovery disk and re-installed Windows 98SE and re-installed Yahoo ver#5.6 but still dont work. Where would I find an older version of Yahoo? Maybe I should try that next. I’m not behind a firewall, but I did send my self a file from my other compouter and it worked, so I’m think the other computer might, just might have an older version of Yahoo. Thank you

I am using Windows 98SE, I am not behind a firewall. I think that maybe it is the new version of Yahoo that might be causing the problems. It worked when I first installed it and than I updated to the new version. On my other computer I think I still have the old version and thats why it works. I did send a file from my other computer to the HP Computer and it worked, but I think the version I was using on the other computer is the old version. Thank you
