I have a very basic mp3 player. It uses an SD 512mb card for files/music/etc. So to add music to it, I simply drag and drop my music files. I have one problem though. I cannot seem to override the order the songs play in. I can either sort them by name, size, type, artist, album title, year, track number, or duration. I want to manually set the arrangement/playing order of the files and not have to use one of those styles. Is this possible?
I attached a screeny..it might make a little more sense 😉
May 7, 2006 at 5:54 am #143982SpikeMemberOne question: If you arrange your songs in a different order (like in your screenshots), does that affect how your MP3 player plays them? Like, are the orders consistent on your computer and on your player?

May 7, 2006 at 10:46 am #143986Tea GrannyMemberHave you tried unchecking the “auto arrange”? Then just “drag and drop” the songs where you want. It works with images so maybe it will work for your tunes.

So no matter how they are in Windows, they always play alphabetically on your player? Then that’s your MP3 player and how it’s programmed, you can’t change the order, sorry. 🙁 Maybe look at the directions to see if you can arrange it differently?May 8, 2006 at 12:06 am #143985DrBroccoliParticipantDid you Mp3 Player come with any software to arrange songs? If so use that, it might have a little more control, or even try to let WMP manage it.
(What Mp3 is it BTW?)May 8, 2006 at 4:11 am #143980Dr KimbleParticipantHee. It isn’t anything fancy. It’s the “zMate mp3” if that helps. It didn’t come with any software, no. I was just wondering if files could be manually arranged on windows. No matter where I move them, or what setting I set the view list to, they always revert back to “name” and “auto arrange.” So I was thinking it is something set on my computer itself..maybe?

May 8, 2006 at 1:57 pm #143987williamleeMembera suggestion. are you able to rename your files before you drop them. for example add a series of numbers before each file like 001 – 002 – 003 etc this way it will read the number first and you would be able to put them in which ever order you choose. just a thought…
