When I opened my filter1 text file, I found a bunch of cuss words and derogatory words and nothing else. Is that normal?
Yes, that is the default filter that comes with Yahoo Messenger. It protects innocent eyes from seeing bad words in chats. You can add to (or delete from) this list if you want using Notepad or any other ASCII text editor.
Many people use this list to also filter html codes that booters often use.

Yes I use my filter1.txt file to filter out words like:
America Online, AOL, Time Warner, Steve Case, Bob Pitman, HBO, Cinemax, New Line Cinema, Netscape, MapQuest… you get the idea! đŸ˜‰

this is for the people that think the new yahoo 5.5 beta is unbootable. wrong think again you can be booted off of it if you want to stop the booting then goto java or goto yahoo chat page not messenger it filters threw the home page there for it stops alot of the codes.you can take out the cuss words in yfilter and replace them with the comman boot code the booters use just look for them there easy to find or get razors edge it helps or defussion 2.0 that will also help thanks for your time .hope my input helped a little if not then i tryed thanks again ace_of_hearts33 yahoo id if any quistions im me đŸ™‚
