I frequent a message board and am wondering if people on there can find out who I am and where I am from.
As long as you haven’t put your real name and location in your profile, there’s pretty much no way to know. Any moderators or administrators would likely be able to see your IP address from your posts, but that will only lead them to your ISP.
Why the need to be so sneaky?
Thank you Shifter, but can a person that also posts on the baord trace my IP? I have heard threats of that before. And if they do, what information would they get?
New dilema.
Someone has posted my name in the public forum in accusation of saying something I did not (My actual name not screen name). Regardless how petty this may be, the site is viewed by thousands and I feel its an invasion of privacy, defemation and slanderous. What can I do about this?

I’m not sure but, if you search down at the bottom of the site, you should see contact webmaster something like that. If you find it then just click on the link and send you complaint about the site there. I know that if they get enough complaints then the webmaster can shut down the site depending on what the situation is.
I heard this from somebody so I don’t know.
