WOOT :woot:
Much anticipated. It doesn’t look super different, but at least the wait is over, haha.
June 17, 2008 at 8:56 pm #170148TigerbladeParticipantYeah, I still see version 2 out there. And that’s only when the site isn’t returning an error message. They were aiming for 5 million downloads, but I think they’ll be glad to get 5 thousand today.
What a debacle.
June 17, 2008 at 9:09 pm #170145DavidParticipantI’m on whatever the latest RC is, but I can’t get the updater to actually fetch the latest version.

You mean you don’t see the download link for 3.0? That’s strange; the link has been up for me since at least 1PM Pacific
June 17, 2008 at 9:33 pm #170149TigerbladeParticipantIt may have been something to do with the corporate filter. I tried refreshing, clearing the cache, the whole works.
Now that I’m home I got through to download it immediately.
June 17, 2008 at 10:21 pm #170156imported_Ven0mMemberThey’re already past 3 million downloads. Hell, there’s so many people trying to access Mozilla’s sites, that they keep going down. In fact, the download counter is kinda broken, since it isn’t updating too fast anymore.
Personally, I love Firefox 3.0 and am quite pleased with it.

RC2 and RC3 are release candidates, not final versions.
June 18, 2008 at 1:18 am #170157imported_Ven0mMemberYeah, but RC3 was released as the final regardless (same hashes).
June 18, 2008 at 8:14 am #170161VvWolverinevVParticipantSo I just updated to 3.0 on my Macbook, and now this is a slightly more drastic change. Now it looks like… Safari… :crying:

My apologies – I had no idea that that’s what happened.

June 19, 2008 at 5:09 am #170151AwesomeSauceParticipantI’m all for the speed and memory improvements, but I’m not so sure how I feel about the slightly-different GUI. I suppose it’s fine. The downloads window seems to have actually taken a step backward, considering the fact you have to double click on the file in order to open it. Before, I only had to click once, but now twice? Come on, I didn’t order a gym membership.

Yeah, it’s pretty much the same as 2.5 except that now a description of all the porn sites you’ve been to comes up every time you type “www” in the address bar (instead of just the URLs).
