MemberHi everyone,
I’m new to the forums. Recently had to do a system restore and so I had to d/l Yahoo Messenger 9. Suffice it to say, while I like some of the features, I hate change. 😛 Is there any way at all to fix the text wrap in YIM 9 to make it look more like version 8. Ugh, I hate how it wraps it to the next line no matter what. I miss the longer lines (depending on window size from version 8).
Thanks. Also is there a way to term font smoothing off?
Thanks in advance,

MemberWell, would you mind explaining more clearly what you mean? Are you talking about how the messages look in Messenger 9 compared to Messenger 8? Or does Messenger not text wrap things like long URLs and things like that?

MemberWell the former, I guess I just don’t like how it looks. Of course the solution could be to d/l the older version. It’s just to my eye, it wraps the text to some imaginary line too close together. I also dislike how if a chat buddy makes a new comment, their name is no longer with the new text.
Of course, this is simply me being picky with the program. I’ll adjust, but so far these are pet peeves. Otherwise, I like the new version.
Thanks for the responses.

MemberThat’s easy to fix though. In the IM window (and you’ll have to do it to the chat window too if you use chat rooms), click on the area where all messages are shown and press the following keys to restore it to 8.x style…
Ctrl+Shift+0 or Ctrl+Shift+3
And it should revert to the preferred style. 🙂
