Well, I’m very new to AIM, as in, I’ve just downloaded it a few hours ago. I haven’t been particularly active in this section before, but I have a bit of a question, might be a stupid one. Anyway…
The normal AIM icon in the taskbar now flashes, and when it flashes, it changes to what you can see in the attached image. Can anyone tell me what this means, and why it’s doing it, I can’t figure it out!
Cheers.
yeah… AIM decided to give each user a “mailbox”… and it’ll flash that icon to alert you that you have new mail.
honestly, i dont know how to get rid of it, since i dont use the actual AIM client all that much. but at least now you know what it means.
Unbelieveable – I try accessing the mailbox in question (which I didn’t even know I had), and I get an invalid username and/or password message. *Shrug* The email can’t be that important, probably just something from AOL?
i think the first (and only?) email in there is AOL letting you know that you have a mailbox. so yeah… not important.
go to my aim, edit options, edit preference, mail and uncheck the three mail notification boxes.
Sorted, thanks mate!
