Hi there,
If you take a look at Logitech’s forums, you’ll see what I mean by “Float to top”. It allows you to move around the forums and re-order them based on what you think is more important to you. I think this is useful. It lets me organise my stuff and as a result it gives me easier, quicker access to the htings that interest me.
Another suggestion would be to allow the members to hide certain forums. Click on a button next to the forum section name and then all you’ll see of that section is a little bar with the section name.
Logitech’s Forums: Logitech Forums – Logitech Forums
If you click these buttons on the homepage:
the forum hides itself (and saves which ones you hid in a cookie (yum)). For example, I have the Spanish forum hidden, I can’t recall the last time I’ve seen it.
As far as the ‘float’ thing, Logitech uses different forum software than we do, so it might not even be possible on a vBulletin system. If you want to get only forums that you want to read, try subscribing to a forum, then view your subscriptions in your profile page. It’s not the same as reordering forums, but it’s better than nothing.
Uh…those buttons only take me to the top of the page. Uhh..but I just noticed JavaScript is disabled 😛 (I do that by default. I thought I setup an exclusion for BBB…)
