MemberGirls! What is your height and what is the minimum height of a guy for you to be interested in dating or having a relationship with him.

MemberYour poll is flawed.
I’m 5’7 and will date shorter or taller men. The only definite MUST is that he is secure with himself and his height. Although, I would suppose it would help if he were *close* to my height –like 5’4 would be ok.

Yes, I know. It was only ten alternatives to chose between. I would have put in more alternatives if I could. I wanted to see the opion of the typical height-groups. That´s why 5’7” isn´t there. For example if very tall girls are more open to shorter guys than rather tall girls.

MemberI’m 5’9″ 1/2 and I’ve dated shorter guys almost exclusively…not because I like it, but because those are the guys who attracted me. For some reason or another they attracted me. It made dressing up difficult b/c of the high heels issue. But that was not a really big deal. Anyway, I’m with the man I’m spending the rest of my life with now…and he happens to be 6’5″. Go figure! (And just for the record, height had NO effect as to why we chose each other…we just love each other and that’s that) If someone cares so much about someone being too tall or too short…they just aren’t worth it…there are so many other things that a more important like whether or not the person is a good person and treats others (including YOU) well.

ParticipantI don’t understand why every option has a ‘must’. “I’m so-and-so height and he MUST be so-and-so height”.
Quote:quote:Why?We’re brought up in that kind of society. Despite any calls of equality between the sexes, we still indirectly believe the male is dominant, meaning he should theoretically be taller.
Anyways, I’m 5’10-5’11-ish, and will basically will go for anything with looks and a brain. I even went once for a guy 8 inches shorter than me (and this WAS his full grown height).
So don’t sweat it shortguy. 😉

Memberi’m 5’11 and 1/2, and i will date a guy who is shorter or taller. i must admit it is kinda strange kissing down while standing up, but who cares, caring for someone goes far past how tall they are.i feel confident wearing high heel shoes around my dates even if they are tiny. if the short dates have a problem with the heals don’t ask me out on a date, cause it would be my date with the problem not me.

MemberHi guys. Thanks for letting me part of your forum.
My heart is really hurting right now… can any of you offer some insight to this? It is the most screwed up reason to split up with someone.
So get this…
I am 5’10”. I’ve been date a fantastic guy who’s 5’7” for the past 3 months. Everything was great. We got along famously and I thought we both felt we had a future together. Anyway, last week he comes over after a few days of him being a bit “tuned out” of the relationship. He looked pathetically sad and I really didn’t know why we were going our separate ways. Being a bit floored by where the conversation was going and didn’t really know why we were even having a conversation about splitting up. I did make the split up rather easy on him. I don’t want to be with anyone is doesn’t want to be with me. Even though he wanted to me with me ALL the time. Anyway, I just chalked it up to a great summer romance and left it at that.
THEN…. I come into work the next day and get this email from him. (PS, English isn’t his first language.
=====
“to be honest, I have to tell you the reason why I don’t fall in love with
you. I have a hard time to admit it, because I feel that it is sad that I
can’t cope with it. I feel it might even be immature, but the fact is that
it can’t change: you are taller than me. As a lover, I feel diminished and
unconfortable when I stand next to you. Especially when you wear those
high heel shoes. Is that any sad? I tried hard to convince myself that it is not a big deal, but I just can’t. I am unconfortable with a girl who is so
taller than me.October 5, 2004 at 12:49 am #53417Oreo
MemberWell, I’m about 5’10” as well and I’ve had problems like this too in the past. But the guys would tell me “Don’t wear high heels, you look too tall next to me!” And that was far worse, at least he respects you and wants you to be yourself. Also, I would venture to guess that your height (even though HE may think it’s the reason) is NOT the reason he had to give up on the two of you. It may be more that he really felt something real and it just plain frightened him, he just may not be ready for that kind of serious relationship, or that it just plain frightens him, and to protect himself he’s convinced himself that the reason he feels uncomfortable is your height. There are PLENTY of shorter guys who would LOVE to be with a taller girl and treat her well and LOVE her. If it’s meant to be…it will happen, but just be happy that it was, when it was, and look forward to what the future holds…for me, it was a 6’5″ man! (For the record, I didn’t fall in love with him b/c of his height!!)

MemberI know that things seem bleak now…but they really will get better. It will be a slow thing, but just remember, there’s always a brighter side to the bad things that happen.
