Skype today announced a promotion that allows users in the United States and Canada to make free calls to conventional wireline and mobile phones. Previously, this capability required SkypeOut credits. Skype already provides free PC-to-PC calling.
This promotion runs from now through then end of 2006, and is intended to accelerate usage in North America, where adoption of its Voice over IP (VoIP) technology lags behind other areas of the world.

Analyst Om Malik recently observed what he termed the “Skype After Effect,” showing how Ebay’s stock price has dropped 20% since purchasing Skype back in September of last year.

May 15, 2006 at 10:27 pm #144511Eagle_KiwiMemberI can see no mention of this at Skype’s site.
Am I blind, or is the info perhaps visible only to users IN those 2 countries ?May 16, 2006 at 12:30 am #144510MrEggsaladParticipantWell, I’d guess it would be on their site, or maybe not since it’s only for 2 countries. I got an email telling me it, so that’s how I knew.
