ParticipantI tried it, but I don’t like how it adds a stupid banner at the top of your page. So I found this , it only requires a small GIF to be added to your main page (which can be easily hidden at the bottom), and you get [whatever here].co.nr!

Member…And why can’t we just spend the $6, buy a domain and forward it?
July 2, 2005 at 4:48 am #123326Tigerblade
Participantyeah… domains are pretty cheap, if you can get one you like. (i had to go with tigerblade.net because some idiot was using .com for pictures of his motorcycle… but .net is much sexier) you’re better off if you just fork out the pocket change for the real thing.

Even you first have to open the account with the bank, continue it for one year, then show them your bank statement, salary information— then the stupid bankers recomend you or may not recomend you the credit card.
Tell me what should I do then? A student, on the behalf of family, with no bank statment

MemberThen I would definately say yeah, go with the free, crappy services out there. But if you can borrow or get (or have?) a credit card, pony up the measly pocket change, go the full mile, and go TLD.

That’s not what I meant at all. I meant, if your parents are willing to lend you their card for a few seconds, or if you can get one in the near future, legally, then I’d say go for it.Back on topic, if you need free hosting with a small subdomain, check out T35.com Hosting. I used to have a few sites on their servers back in the day…Yep, those were the days, indeed.

I meant, if your parents are willing to lend you their card for a few seconds, or if you can get one in the near futureTrouble continues… My parents don’t own any credit card, reasons are no online payments, transactions they’ll have to make, shoping is not mostly instead always done by direct money purchase, that’s not the case with my family it’s with the 99.9% of the population here. Damn… under devolped countries.
Whatever— thanks for that link, I’m going to test it.July 3, 2005 at 4:55 pm #123332smurf

Participantsmurf wrote:i never knew you people would make such a big deal over a ****in redirection service.smurf, this is a family-friendly forum, and as such you’d do wisely to watch what you say.as for making such a big deal over it, that’s part of what posting in a forum involves. you post something, it’s free for debate, discussion, argument, and alternatives. some of us believe that redirection is inferior to simply getting a real domain, others believe that redirection is a perfectly viable alternative. if you didnt want people to post their views on the matter, then you should not have posted it. thank you for the information, but you cannot then gripe about what is said regarding it.

smurf, this is a family-friendly forum, and as such you’d do wisely to watch what you say.*Ooops* Agressions, yes Tigerblade is right, Smurf you’ll have to take care of what you are going to say, as the old saying is, ‘First think then speak.’ BigBlueBall is a family-friendly forum, even the name indicates, we all are here belonging to one family that is BigBlueBall, no race, no ethnic background. Respect is the main thing here, respect others views, there ideas, there thinkings. People from diverce nations, cultures are here with a universal thinking and thought.
I hope you’d got the key….:) -
