Smurf seems to be quite intent on advertising his own websites…I’m just reporting this particular thread as spam. It doesn’t serve any purpose but to advertise.
Ewww….there’s one thing when it’s games…there’s something totally different when it’s URL re-direction…do we really want this link sitting out there???
What’s wrong with URL redirection, or am I missing something? It’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Is the post a little spammy? Yes, but for what it’s worth, he asked me if he could share the link first. And sense he doesn’t ONLY post links pimping his friend’s sites, I let him post it this time.
Perhaps I misunderstood…I thought it was when you click on a site and it brings you to a completely different site that you did not mean to go to in the first place. (i.e. looking for plants online and then ending up on a porn site when you click a link)
Well I suppose it could be used for something like that, but then anyone could do that. I’ve seen redirection used by sites like http://tinyurl.com to give you an nice way to share an awful-long URL. And I’ve seen people use it to point to sites hosted by Geocities or similar services.
I think it’s yet another example of a technology that can be used for good or bad, like most things on the Internet.
