June 24, 2003 at 2:56 am #60810detn8rParticipantDoes it un-freeze at all? If you havent waited, try it. If it freezes, it might be caused to lack of some RAM. How much do you have?
MSNv6 takes up 15%, so if you dont have very much, it can cause it to freeze, as it did with me.June 24, 2003 at 4:03 am #60824babycandyParticipantim sure i have enough. but i dont know where to check … ?
June 24, 2003 at 5:11 am #60809detn8rParticipantI dont have much experience with XP, but if you are running on 9x, 2000, or ME, go to start>settings>control panel>system tab.
It should say it in the summary.June 24, 2003 at 5:56 am #60835ivandMemberi have problems too with the oficial preview, i cant sign in everytime it tryes, it freezes at all, i have windows me and 256 ram and the beta version it works great, but i cant continue using it because it force me to update and then the update dosnt work

June 24, 2003 at 6:07 pm #60820epiphany13MemberI’m having the same problem. I’ve been using MSN 6 without problems for about 3 weeks now and all of a sudden it started freezing on me yesterday when I tried to log-in. I’ve re-downloaded it 3 times now and I still have the same problem.
June 24, 2003 at 6:55 pm #60842suprgrl6969Memberyah the same thing happened to me.. i tryed letting it just wait but it still doesnt work, and it worked fine before i had to download the stupid preview thing:mad: and i still have tones of space left on my computer… does anyone know whats going on??????
June 24, 2003 at 8:15 pm #60822babycandyParticipantTHIS REALLY SUCKZ =( i tried going back to beta but it forces me to download the new one … 😡 i miss msn. ><"
June 25, 2003 at 12:38 am #60846TwiztidMemberDitto freezes right as i am signing in i have a **** load of space. Must just be a problem with Msn and ME just ain’t workin cuz it seems to be the same for us ME users. Hopefully the New Version just comes out right away instead of hangin us with the preview that us ME Users CAN’T USE!!!
June 25, 2003 at 1:20 am #60821babycandyParticipantsounds like it. all window me users cant get their msn working. but then on the microsoft download page, isnt there’s a version just for window me (and 98) users?
June 25, 2003 at 1:33 am #60845TwiztidMemberYes. But thats what i chose and freezes everytime. More less it’s just a matter of time before we get the new version i guess. Maybe msn has some kinks to get out i guess they don’t call it a preview for nothing.
June 25, 2003 at 11:12 am #60832KermitMemberHmmm…then you downloaded MSN Messenger 6.0, did you see which version you downloaded…I mean…Did you take the right version for YOU’R windows…
If you have Windows XP you must take a Windows XP version, and if you have Windows ME you must download a version to ME…
There can also be some other problem.
Like…
I now that all the good guys say that Windows Me is the best and so on, but it isn’t, becuase. All version (windows 95, 98, 2000, Me, Nt, XP and so on) they have some good side and a bad side.
I don’t now 95 and 98 good and bad side, but i now that…
NT: Is a network windows. I’t have some more options in networkconfigartion, than the other windows.
2000: Is not for games, must for programs.
XP Home Edition: I don’t now.
XP Prof.: I’t a bit like windows NT, i’t also have some more configurations in the network-part.

June 25, 2003 at 11:14 am #60831KermitMemberUPS!! I forgot to say that ME isn’t the windows on the internet…That could also be the problem…
