Hi, this is my first post and I’m sorry if it’s not a good start but I’ve used Trillian and Miranda and I can’t stand them both. Trillian makes you pay for Jabber, and Miranda takes up a butt load of memory.
My last resort is Gaim. But I can’t even logon to any of my usernames for Jabber, MSN, Yahoo, and AIM. I use them all and none of them will log on. It gives me the error “
has been disconnected”. Every time I try to logon. I hope you can resolve this.
Thanks

- Auth host: login.oscar.aol.com
- Auth port: 5190
- Proxy type: Use Global Proxy Settings
For the other accounts, double check to make sure the servers and ports are configured right. Modify the accounts to Use Global Proxy Settings.
The Yahoo problem is caused by a missing image file used for login verification, which I can’t help you with.
MSN should work. The most likely problem is you are typing the username with out the @ sign in it. If that isn’t the problem then I would suggest using v2.0Beta3 located here.
Also, if you are behind a firewall, you need to make sure Gaim is allowed to pass through it.
I hope this helps. 🙂
