its about $1.30 a litre here.1 gallon is about 3.8 liters.
Around here it’s averaging $2.10 /gallon, but it bounces around between $2.01 and $2.25. Usually the gas stations off the freeway are 5-10 cents cheaper than the ones in town, but it hasn’t gone below $2.01 in a long time.

i noticed my car was making a noise similar to an airplane when i accelerated over 40mph, so i took it to a garage, and what do ya know? it needs $800 worth of repairs! 🙁 of course, it comes at a time when rachel doesn’t have $800 to spend on it. so my mom and dad are going to lend me the money and i will have to pay them back. sigh.

Speaking of cars, mine needs a new clutch and new tires this summer *sigh* I love driving a manual, but my gosh…*hugs her subaru*

MemberI’m trying to get someone to teach me to drive a manual. I’ve got the gears down, but going from the clutch to the gas gives me problems, which, I know, the whole reason the car goes…but, nobody drives them anymore.
Sam, I’m coming to see you this summer. If you teach me, I’ll buy your new clutch.
Here’s my list of repairs:
2001 Mitsubishi Mirage ES 1.8L
Brake Pads 59.56
Brake Rotors 92.67
Wheel Bearings 320.28
Oil Change 25.00
Labor 34 hrs 204.00
Grand Total: 701.51 + taxWHOOOOOOOOO!

Participant*laughs* Sounds like a deal, I’m already teaching my sister and I’ve taught two of my roomates as well. Heheh. Yeah, getting the hang of when to hit the gas is the rough part, and it’s different on every car. You just have to ease off the clutch really really slowly until you feel the tranny start to engage (that’s when it starts moving on its own if you’re on a hill, or it starts feeling like it’s going to stall) that’s when you start with the gas *nod nod* It only get tedious to me when you sit at a stop light forever and being that you drive a manual with two feet, my lesser prodominant foot holds in the clutch, so it starts shaking a little, hehehe. Slip that sucker into neutral and let it sit.
It’s tricky to get the hang of for a lot of people, but hey, it’s worth it, I think *beam*
Yikes, yeah, parts aren’t bad if you buy them yourself or know what you’re doing and get them in the junk yard or whatnot, it’s the labor that really really kills you. I guess I”m lucky that two of my roomates are subaru fans and know how to fix just about anything on there, it’s just a point of getting the tools for them to fix it.
Speaking of which…I’m going to need to flush out my system and such soon *sigh* New air filter, oil change, tranny…all that and a tune up *mutter* Gosh I hate cars…

MemberOk by my initial calculations, at the current exchange rate, the price of one gallon of petrol here in england works out to a grand total of:
*drumroll*

So if I here anyone here complaining about expensive petrol in the US… I shall shoot them.

ParticipantGas is down to $2.00 dollars a gallon here and is said to keep going down for us, so i definately don’t think anyone in Texas should ever be complaining.
