Looking for scary, spooky Halloween avatars, and emoticons for MSN Messenger? Well check these out brought to you by Microsoft.

If you do a search for halloween on MessengerMods.com you’ll find some of the same, plus others.

Actually you just have to sign up and be logged in to download them. But if you like doing it the hard way…;)
October 31, 2003 at 8:00 pm #88732FrutZleMemberIt doesn’t say anything about signing up before you can download the images, which will make a lot of people turn away. Signing up is something I don’t like doing in the first place, especially if it’s for something that I don’t use (or go to) often.
Edit removed 😉

A fair point, but the site is still in beta stages as Jeff has indicated on the site. So I am sure he is open for any helpful suggestions. 🙂
November 1, 2003 at 1:10 am #88731FrutZleMemberI’d say: get rid of the right-click blocker (it’s useless anyway) and see if you can do what MSN has done on the page that detn8r gave the link of. Or make premium images that only members can get and show “regular” images to guests too.
There are so many possibilities that it’s not even funny anymore 😉
November 1, 2003 at 1:31 am #88726Jeff HesterKeymasterGood feedback, Frutzle. I’ve changed the permissions so you don’t need to join to download images. I agree with your point about the right-click blocker; few things are more annoying. It’s comes that way by default with 4images Gallery, and I MIGHT disable it. The only downside is that if people right-click and save as, that won’t be tracked as a download. Since I’ve opened up downloads to anyone (members and guests alike), this might not be such a big issue, eh?
November 1, 2003 at 2:15 am #88730FrutZleMemberIf you want to get download counts and need to have people register for that, you should make clear (in other words: put it on the pages) that in order to download people have to register. Then also put that on the information page for the images and remove the icons that say “download”. It’s just not clear the way it is now.
November 1, 2003 at 3:58 am #88724Jeff HesterKeymasterI don’t need to have people to register to download. Although it is possible to create categories that are restricted to “members only” that’s not my plan at this time.
I did leave it so you’ve got to be a member to upload or comment, though.
