Membermy girlfriends yahoo keeps signing her in in the middle of chats. It’ll say she’s logged in, when she’s already logged in.
She has the latest version of yahoo…
Actually this started right after she install zone alarm

MemberEnsure Zone Alarm is allowing Yahoo! Messenger full access to what it wants, it’s possible its letting certain packets NOT got through, making Yahoo! thinks shes logged off and on again.
Sometimes however, Yahoo! just gets it wrong, I am often talking to somebody, 10mins later (while they are still talking to me) Yahoo! tells me they’ve signed in again.

Memberthanks, I went thru her ZA settings with her, but i’ll double-check them.
It is interesting that the re-loggings only started minutes after her ZA install, and it also affects her ICQ… though interestingly it doesn’t affect her MSNAugust 19, 2003 at 4:47 pm #56943freddy
MemberI started having problems with Zone Alarm on my old PC, it wouldn’t even let my ISP connect at times unless it was disabled, it just seem to went off on a world of its own.
So on my new PC i never installed it, I tried alternatives.

MemberZone Alarm seems like a great firewall, and so far my 98 and xp computers have been okay. I have some problems with winmx (can’t be a primary) and i can’t use Whiteboard with MSN messenger, but i think it may be due to me having a linksys router for my cable.
My girlfriend has ZA off, to see if that will eliminate the problem.
Sygate has a free firewall i heard is pretty good. I installed it to see if my winmx would work fully, but went back to ZA.

MemberI use sygate, works quite good. After zone alarm I tried outpost, it used to crash too much (the data buffers or something used to get full, especially when i was developing, and it was trying to keep up with me debuggin new builds of software). I then moved onto sygate and stayed with it.
Do you ever lose messages during this sign in stuff? Or just get the login messages.
August 19, 2003 at 6:04 pm #56949jonjan
Memberwe’ve never lost messages, and so far it’s only been logging her in again, never me. Just seeing she “has logged in” and then she can’t see the next few messages i type to her.
she does have a load of spiders on her computer that AdAware found, but it won’t remove them, and Spybot won’t either. She has 327 ‘bad things’ when she ran AdAware the first time, and i’m still trying to find some program that can remove her spiders without too much tech know-how needed by her… i figure that could be causing the glitch, if not just jamming her computer a bit.
I just was recommended to try sygate instead of ZA again to see if it fixes my winmx, so i’ll do that once a yahoo file transfer i have is done… worth another try

MemberGood.
Many cookies are seen as spyware, because it recognises some are from ad networks etc… which could be a large contribution to the 300+ you mentioned. Clear your cookies and run the program again.
tools, internet options, clear cookies (IE6).
c:windowscookies for other IEsAugust 20, 2003 at 2:33 pm #56947jonjan
Memberthanks, we have been clearing the cookies, and will double-check them.
your website gave me an idea… maybe the re-logging is caused by yahoo auto-update? I don’t know if it would look for updates several times a day, or if it would also caused ICQ to re-log (though maybe ICQ has an auto-update also) but seems worth a try to disable it

Member😀 Problem has been mostly solved.. after some more cleaning AdAware finally removed all the spiders it had been identifying, it has not relogged her in
however her Leechammer with winMX still gets her yahoo messed up and logs her off, but that is another issue. But anyone happen to have any ideas?
