This comes out in the UK next week, my son wants me to take him, has anyone seen it? Our release dates are later than the USA etc
Was it any good? … Is it worth me shelling out a fortune in popcorn and pick ‘n’ mix, 😎 (yeah with my kids that part of the cinema visit!) or shall we wait for it come on sat tv?
February 27, 2007 at 10:30 pm #158734MrEggsaladParticipantI went and saw it, it was pretty good. For a comic book movie, it wasn’t really that much like one at all. Plenty of action, and they tell you everything you need to know in the movie to understand it all. I say go see it! Worth your money! There were some interesting parts such as the way people were killed and such, again, pretty good movie, I say see it.
February 27, 2007 at 11:22 pm #158729FanaticMemberI saw an extended preview of Ghost Rider when I visited the Sony booth at CES last month, and it actually looked pretty good (for the genre).
February 28, 2007 at 5:25 am #158730detn8rParticipantI haven’t seen it personally, but when I caught a preview of it (at the beginning of another flick I was watching) everyone that I was with asked the same question: what the HELL were they thinking casting Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze!? That it self is questioning whether or not I would spend a hefty dollar to see it in the show. Perhaps as a DVD rental in a few month, maybe.
March 2, 2007 at 3:41 am #158732AwesomeSauceParticipantI was initially looking forward to this movie (it was an awesome comic book). However, once I learned who the director was.. and saw how cheesy the previews were.. I had to admit to myself that it probably sucked.

I took my son and his friend and there were quite a few kids of a similar age (11-15ish). After it finished loads of them were clapping so they obviously enjoyed it.
Worth watching. 🙂
March 3, 2007 at 11:27 pm #158728Jeff HesterKeymasterI actually think Nicholas Cage was a good casting choice for this role (I think… I haven’t seen the movie yet). He plays an Evel Knievel-type motorcycle stunt rider (jumping cars and such). As I understand it, he is kind of a has-been, washed up. Sounds like perfect casting to me. :p
March 4, 2007 at 2:55 am #158731TigerbladeParticipantThe only reason I’m even potentially interested in seeing this — besides Eva Mendes — is that today I discovered that the trailer for Resident Evil: Extinction plays before Ghost Rider.
but YouTube has saved me from having to actually see GR. Thank you YouTube!
April 18, 2007 at 1:05 am #158735PhilipModeratorManaged to see Ghost Rider recently, and I was disappointed with it, to put it mildly. Eva Mendes provides some nice eye-candy and the special effects are not bad, but besides that, there is nothing much left to have a feeling for. I think GR’s story line is very similar to that of Blade (a much better movie with great performances by Wesley Snipes and Kris Kristofferson as the mentor) so nothing original in that.
Overall: 4/10
