ok… this is just REALLY annoying:
u know the little icon in the bottom right corner of the screen 4 gmail notifier (I noticed it did this for google talk also) well… whenever I right click on it, the right menu pops up… but another one pops up right next to it. its the same menu that would pop up if I were to right clicked anywhere else on the start bar (minus the start button). I click on whatever I wanted in the first place, but the second menu doesn’t go away (u know, if u clicked on the desktop, usually it would just disappear? it doesn’t do that) I have to select an option (such as “properties”) and close it, just to get the menu to go away. I’m using Windows XP Home.
does my problem make sense?
First of all, you should be using Google Talk and not Gmail Notifier as the Gamil Notifier isn’t supported anymore (last I checked, anyway). Second, it might be a problem with your copy of Windows, and it may just be a slight bug in their programming that certain people experience. I would suggest first reporting it to Google and see what they say.
I have this same problem. I get it occasionally when I click anything in the taskbar. What I do to make it go away is click a “divider”, so to say, or the lines between the options, it makes it go away when you click on the desktop then. I haven’t really found a fix for it either.
well… the reason I use both Google talk and Gmail notifier, is because I have 2 gmail accounts… I really didn’t want to take the time to figure out how to get google talk to tell me if I have mail in either of the accounts… hey, theres another question 4 u 😀
