Didnt know which section this should actually go in….
Anyways, Is there a way to see when you get mail?
You know with Hotmail, they have MSN Messenger and it tells you when you got mail
AOL, says you got mail
Yahoo Messenger tells you
I know there isnt an instant messenger for Google, but is there a way to tell when you get mail with GMail?
You could also use the Gmail Notifier if you want to. You get nofitied via an icon at the bottom right of your desktop. I find it really useful. When you get an email it pops up a message and you can go directly to your account.
gtray also works good, it the one I use
I use Mail Notifier. It alerts u when u have a new Gmail, Pop3, Yahoo, or Hotmail message.
Trillian Pro users can download a Gmail plug-in that gives you notification and email previews. Check out You’ve Got GMail!
I use a free program called AvirMail and ill quote
This e-mail client supports nine mail accounts over a LAN or a dial-up connection. It automatically dials, checks mail and hangs up.
It features a flashing tray icon for new mail and a flexible time-based mail-checking configuration. It also reads up to five, ten or twenty message first lines, tells you when a file is attached to a message, and displays mail headers. You can delete mail directly from your server and you can configure the program to pop up when new mail arrives.
This uses very few system resources and stays in your tray; it also works well with slow mail servers.
