Is there any word as to when the beta will be over for these two services??
or will they have the invite system for ever onwards :p

They want to discourage people from opening multiple Gmail accounts, so they’ve set it up so you either get an invite or you can use your cell phone to “validate” your identity (working from the theory that very few people have multiple cell phones).

And even the people that do have Gmail, they dont use Google Talk, they just use there Gmail account via the .net passport and sign in that way.

I have been trying to get a gmail code forever now it seems and i am very frustrated w/ not getting anywhere. Is there something other than providing a number to text the code to that I should be doing. Or do they just not send them out anymore? I have an account just not the chat.
