Google Talk is great and all, but i just find that compared to my MSN Messenger contact list, no one they know uses the service.
I mean, yes Google Talk has been active for only a little while but owned by one of the most susseful companys in the world, im sure they can get alot more people into it.
so im wondering is anyone elce out there finding the same problem, just want to know if im on my own here or not??
thanks guys.
April 12, 2006 at 6:57 pm #140595HasanMemberI dont have much contacts on gt either but then i dont even have many contacts on msn.
When I started a research group i asked everyone to stay intouch with gt.
I think people have just as much participation in making a program popular as the software vendor (advertisements)
Everyone has a gmail account these days all you have to do is ask them to download gtalk.April 13, 2006 at 1:41 pm #140597mc_leishMemberfair enough, thanks for your feedback.

April 23, 2006 at 6:42 pm #140596HasanMemberI think every orkut user has a google id but whether they use gtalk or not that you can’t be sure of.
July 7, 2006 at 5:57 pm #140594Jeff HesterKeymasterthe way to get people to migrate is first to tell them that they can still talk to all of there msn/aim/icq/yahoo contacts from google talk after a very minimal initial effort (setting up the transport), and then once enough people in each circle have, all the communication can be through gtalk, and proper jabber
but google need to help with this. they need to make transport easy to register with using google talk. the idea of downloading another client jsut to set up gtalk is ridiculous. also they really need 2 other features..group conversations and probably webcam features so that people dont feel like they are taking a step backwardsJuly 11, 2006 at 7:08 pm #140600jdelectroMemberDon´t forget file transfer 🙂
July 12, 2006 at 2:12 am #140599.ClintParticipantI think that the reason GTalk isn’t very popular is because many people have hotmail accounts, so they use MSN messenger. Not many people have GMail accounts, because they are not just “one-click” registration.
