July 8, 2003 at 3:25 pm #94529IndyToneMemberI endorse this thread. I sold my old D-Link cam a month ago and need a nicer/newer cam. Which cam give you the most “bang for your buck” for under $50 (American)?
PS: Trillian is somewhat shotty when it comes to supporting webcams currently.
July 8, 2003 at 8:40 pm #94528FaizanMemberIn my opinion, Logitech Quickcam is the best one, thats the one I have, but I rarely ever use it. And its cheap and in quality, its really brilliant. Only costs 40 Pounds. Really cheap IMO.

They aren’t the cutting edge, but they are solid performers and you can’t go wrong with them. You’ll find some links in our own BigBlueBall Webcam section where you can compare prices or even purchase cams.
I currently use three different webcams, all older models. Sparky (the home computer) has a Logitech QuickCam Pro. My laptop which travels around used to use an Intel webcam (which they no longer make), but as the camera really belongs to my son, I’m now using a very cheap ($15 on sale) webcam from Micro Innovations. It works, but the picture quality is not very good. Of the three, the Logitech is my favorite.

Honestly calls for me to say that I haven’t tried any others, but since it’s been a breeze to set it up and it’s compatible with all programs I’ve tried it on, I’ll defenately go for another Logitech for my second cam, probably the QC 4000 Pro.
