KeymasterOne small step for Google…
On July 20, 1969, man first landed on the moon… Now Google commemorates the event with Google Moon. Very clever! And if you’ve ever wondered what the moon was really made of… just zoom all the way in. 😉
Google Moon is a result of their Copernicus lunar hosting and research center. As stated on their website:
“We usually don’t announce future products in advance, but in this case, yes, we can confirm that on July 20th, 2069, in honor of the 100th anniversary of mankind’s first manned lunar landing, Google will fully integrate Google Local search capabilities into Google Moon, which will allow our users to quickly find lunar business addresses, numbers and hours of operation, among other valuable forms of Moon-oriented local information.”
I’m glad to see that Google’s 80 billion market cap is bringing some good to the solar system.

MemberHeh, Google, what won’t they come up with? I think your signature does say it all, Jeff, someday we will all be Googling Google to find some Google for our Google!
And that bit about them listing businesses on the Moon cracked me up. Noo, my new shirt here, it wasn’t made in Korea or China, it was made on the moon!

MemberAfter you all check out Google Moon, you should definitely head to the Google Earth page and check it out. That way, once you’ve had your fill of the moon you can turn the tables and imagine what the Earth looks like from the moon…or at least sortof from the moon. 😉

MemberI actually downloaded Google Earth before I read Zlinks post, and I love it! I found my house, my friends house, my church, and even the White House. It is definitely worth the download. Also if you go to Local Search and put in your city, you can put in local businesses and it shows you all of them. Enter Startbucks or McDonalds, all of them will take up about half the map 😉 . Well everyone else that downloads it, enjoy!
