Vote for the features you’d like to see in future releases!
September 26, 2005 at 11:22 pm #130900LLXerxesMemberI hope you didn’t mess up this time…

More system tray options
Invisible Mode
Mobile ConnectionsSeptember 26, 2005 at 11:33 pm #130901AqeelParticipantI think G-talk is at initial stages so they are not going to add all these things all of a sudden, so in first step they can add a few things;
Text formatting.
Smileye.
File Transfer.
But they should really add 🙂 … Chat Rooms.September 27, 2005 at 3:47 am #130896Jeff HesterKeymasterIn addition to file transfer and emoticons, I’d add several things that you didn’t mention:
- Voice mail – this could be integrated with Gmail, so incoming voice messages show up in your Gmail inbox, too.
- Voice conferencing – voice chat is currently limited to two people. I’d like to see this expanded to allow group conferencing, limited only by bandwidth and hardware constraints.
- Voice recording – Add a “record” button that lets you record voice conversations.
- Podcast publishing – Could Google Talk become the ultimate podcast kit? Yes, with recording and push-button podcast publishing (maybe via Blogger?) and an announcement service ala iTunes.
As for text formatting, I don’t really care. You can change the text size already. Avatars don’t do much for me. Video? I have mixed feelings about video. I suppose I could go either way on that one.
Good poll!
September 27, 2005 at 4:30 am #130898AwesomeSauceParticipantDefinetely file transfer, and maybe video chat. I don’t want to see girly features like avatars and smileys/emoticons in it. Text formatting doesn’t do much for me either.

We use google talk for work, but are about to have to switch back to yahoo cuz google talks archiving is non-exsistant. Please give us an option to keep a log of previous chats so we don’t have to leave Google Talk on 24/7
October 3, 2005 at 6:09 pm #130897HasanMemberIts depressing to see votes for Avatars, Text Formatting, Chatrooms and Smileys.
If these people start requesting the GoogleTalk developers for it; it will soon turn into another MSN Messenger.October 3, 2005 at 8:27 pm #130899KudoParticipantAgreed with you Hasan I think that just Video chat and maybe file transfer (not a feature for me I hate it on every IM) will do.They should keep it simple for people that are looking something other that all the other IM with they worthless features 😀
