I saw a little article at a site about a secret game from Google Talk, text-based.
To access it: Right-click on your Google Talk icon in the system tray, click “About…”
You will see the GT About dialog, but near the bottom, barely visible, is this:
play 23 21 13 16 21 19 . 7 1 13 5
Doing a simple alphabetical translation reveals the words…
play wumpus.game
Add “wumpus.game” to your Google Talk account, and you can play the old IRC game, wumpus!
Note: I have not personally gotten this to work yet, the bot has not accepted my invitation.
Yeah I noticed that yesterday and added wumpus.game@gmail.com to my GT account. But whatever this “wumpus” is, it hasnt shown up as available on my contact list yet.
What is 1.0.0.64 right below “Google Talk” supposed to mean

Well lookie here:
A version of Hunt the Wumpus appeared in Google Talk August 2005, as a bot found by by a clue in an easter egg. However, during the day of August 24th it was online sporadically. Since then, the game has been offline – where it is under the “invited” status. This may be due to a large number of queries to the bot causing it to crash.
So that there tells why it isn’t working. I went to find out more about the game when I saw this. Interesting how a Google bot couldn’t handle all this when you look at the kinds of servers they have…
I’m sure it will be back up again soon.
