My friend and I always send each other messages when each other is offline, and most of the time it goes well, but a couple weeks ago he sent me two messages on two different days and they both showed up together on the third day, and I had logged in and out in the meantime without getting anything. I checked the dates, so that is how I even know they were from those other days, which I confirmed with him.
Now yesterday, I got a message from him that sounded like something he would have written me on Monday, but the date on it was yesterday. Has anyone had a problem where the message lingers in cyberspace and then changes the date of when it was written? I can understand my previous situation better than this one, but I haven’t talked to the guy since so I have no clue when he did indeed write it. He could’ve written it yesterday, I was wondering if there was a chance it was written on Monday (in my case I hope it was written yesterday).
Thanks.November 23, 2002 at 4:43 pm #99474rustedtightMemberFirst ask the guy when each message was written. Theres little point is deliberating over iff’s n maybe’s when the answer is someother place.
January 3, 2003 at 4:26 pm #99482MistahManParticipantActually I have been having a similar problem where I keep getting this offline message over and over again tho I have already read it. several times when I turn Icq on it will pop up. I ran this problem by the ICQ news group and I was told that it could be as a result of the fact that I use an older version of ICq (2000b) and they are slowly phasing out support for the older versions, which really sucks since I haven’t liked newer versions of the programs.
What version are you using?
January 12, 2003 at 2:55 am #99477cindyMemberWell im using latest version and im also getting offline messages

Get same messages over and over. When you say latest version, you mean the absolute latest version? Cause if this is a general problem ICQ is having which occurs with all versions, I won’t have to switch from 2000b. I’m not too crazy about the latest versions.
