I think that it would be a cool idea to be able to have AOL cloned. That way you could be on two screen names at once on AOL and read e-mail from both screen names, IM people, Chat, etc. This would be a very helpful program. Is there already a program for this? If so, let me know. Thanks!
Ok, Thanks!! I have found alot of topics on cloning AOL instant messenger but none on cloning AOL software.
Oops, I’m sorry, I didn’t know you meant AOL.
Wouldn’t you need two phone lines, two AOL accounts and two dial-up modems to do that?
I don’t think with the way AOL works you’ll be able to do that.
oh, I was just wondering if there was a way to clone AOL. It would be a useful program to clone AOL. Thanks
If you have AOL Broadband and the regular dial-up AOL you can sign on with 2 different screen names. I used to have to do this with my brother but we got rid of AOL. Try doing a Google search for an AOL cloner.
aol used to restrict users to only one screen name logged on at a time for each account… im not sure if they still do this but cloning aol would be pretty useless if they do… unless you wanted to use a friends account at the same time.
It is not restricted to only one screen name per account on anymore.
oh alright didnt know that
We used to clone AOL all the time back in the day. Useful to get on, say, about six screen names, go into one room, and be able to scroll like crazy by using a program that would use each screen name 4 times for 4 lines, then move on to the next name, and repeat. And by the time you got back the first name the rate limit would not have applied, so you could just loop it. Was great to make it look like you had an overhead account.
