I’m using MSN Messenger version 7 but 6.2 still shows up in my Add/Remove programs list. Is there any way I can remove this from the list?
Does MSN Messenger v7 show up on your Add/Remove programs list as well? If so, try uninstalling v7 and then redownloading and reinstalling it.
When you installed v7, it should have effectively overwritten the previous installation. It could also be possible that the Add/Remove programs listing for v6.2 is actually a redundant listing, and v6.2 isn’t actually installed on your system at all.
Hey Martin,
Yes Msn Messanger v7 does show up on my add/remove program list. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this version before as I upgraded from windows 98 to xp. I did have this problem when I was using 98 software tho.
I think it could be a redundant listing. Everytime I click the remove button its looking for the installation file for it.
Thanks for your help
Lesley
I think it is possible to remove the redundant listing by editing the registry, however I’m not 100% sure on how to do it. I wouldn’t have thought that the problem is wasting any significant amount of disk space either.
