HELP!

this may sound confusing but it’s been buggin the hell outta me 😡
on the pc.. when you go the the start menu and then click run… theres a certain word you type in that when u go thru the right folders, you can customize ur font, font size, and color to ur preference..and their outside of the regualar 24 colors and sizes… its been buggin me cuz i cant remember the word!!!

I do not know of this run command you speak of but if you mean the display properties you can go to RUN > Control Panel > Display properties or you can right-click on your desktop and choose Properties from the menu.

you know I had that same problam do you want to make you font, sizes and color for aol? like when you write emails and IMs? well if so let me know, than I can help you byez, Lesley

no, not for the entire display on the computer just for aim…for example when u go to preferences and u can choice the font, color, windown color, etc…theres a word that when u type into run it goes into basically the preferences folder for aim..and u can customize the color to any hex color you want..OTHER than the colors they give u lol

i got applesauce to work:Dbut there’s only one problem. I can’t get the colors I chose to transfer into my info, just my IM boxes and aways. If anyone can tell me how to get the colors in my info, I would appreciate it. Thanks!!!

oops, I forgot to answer your question! after you download applesauce, you have to unzip. so all I did was open winzip, click extract, and save it. Then go to where you saved it, and open it:D there are different versions of winzip, but I hope I helped you.:)

regedit is what you type in once you go to start run etc. to change the font colors and everything.

Start->Run…->Regedit->OK
HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->AOL Instant Messenger (TM)->Users->[Your username]->IM

You can edit “FontColor” and “WindowColor” by double-clicking. Then enter in the appropriate hex color code.

Edit: hmm… i’ve been experimenting… for some reason you have to enter the hex code backwards to get the desired color? or maybe i’m just dead wrong lol

alright, thank you!! I understand everything you explained, and this might seem like a dumb question, but how do you know what the hex code is? there was already a code in the box, so I clicked OK, but the colors I wanted still didn’t go into my info. I’m sorry for asking these questions, I just really want it to work:o thanks again. Jenny

when I goto sign onto AIM I type in my screen name and password then click sign on….it says 1. Connecting… then it won’t go passed that step….I don’t know how to fix this. Please help….going on AIM is like my life….hehe

First off.. I’m new to this site.. but I would think a better topic name would be needed.. I mean, most people that post a topic on here need help, but usually put what they need help with.

I would think either reinstall AIM or try from the sign on screen setup>signon/off then click the connection button and try the “Auto Configure”. But I’ve never used that option, so I don’t know if it will help you.
