When I burn CDs past the 500Mb area, the files after that point aren’t identical when I verify the disc.
I’ve re-installed the drivers for my burner, tried 2 different burning software (including Nero) and used different types of discs. But still the same problem…anyone know what’s wrong?
I wonder if it has anything to do with the cd’s you are using? Try a different brand of CD-R or CD-RW’s
Yeah, I did. I tried using Memorex, HP, and a generic brand too…but all had the same problem. The discs work fine when I use them on another burner on a different computer.
If you’ve tried more than one CD burner program and more than one kind of CD, then maybe it’s your optical drive. What brand and model is it?
It’s a Hewlett Packard external burner, its kinda old…around 5 years. But I can’t think of why it would just stop working at a certain point.
yikes….. yeah i’d say it is just aged and it might be on its way out…. they’re getting cheaper these days…. it probably wouldnt hurt to buy a new drive…
Hmm…what would cause this problem though? It’s still physically working during the burn process, as in no errors come up.
Maybe it’ll work if I hit it a few times…haha.
I dunno, sometimes things just get old and cause some weird stuff to happen. however, i’d get a second opinion just in case I misdiagnosed your problem…. but even if I did…. buying a new one wont hurt anything 😉
