I’m trying to watch videos using SBC Yahoo’s fancied up windows media player. Whenever I try and watch any kind of video, the player only initializes 30% of the media. I know that my Norton Internet Security is the problem behind this, but I have no idea how to configure NIS so that it will allow me to watch these videos… So anyone have some ideas?

Could you please tell us how you know NIS is the problem for this (have you disabled it and it works?). And please provide more information for us here. Such as what is your current configurations for NIS and are you using the Microsoft’s Windows Media Player? Operating system? 1 link to a video that doesn’t work.
Another important thing is what NIS version are you using? It is my guess that you are using the 2005 version and the problem is not because of your NIS but the NAV 2005 that came with your NIS 2005. If so, please post back so I can give you the solution to it =)
And if your version is 2004, then it is because of the NIS’s ad blocking and privacy fault.

- Open Windows Media Player
- Click “View,” located on the Windows Media Player toolbar.
- Select “Options.”
- Click on the “Advanced” tab.
- Click “Streaming Media (Windows Media)” to highlight.
- Click the “Change..” button.
- At the bottom of the page, verify that the “HTTP” option is checked.
