My aim will show the ad at the top that the page cannot be displayed plz refresh the page and when I get an IM i cant read it i only get the tool bar and a white screen, and my aim will shut down by itself!
Hmm, let’s start with the basics:
What are your system specs? What version of AIM are you using? Have you done a full system virus scan since you started having this problem? Also, what version of Microsoft Internet Explorer do you have installed?
AIM 6.5 has these System Requirements:
1. Windows: 2K or higher
2. IE 6.0 or higher
3. 128MB RAM and 512MB for Enhanced IM functionality
4. Macromedia Flash
5. Microphone/speaker or headset for Talk functionality

I have aim 6.5, yes i have done multiple virus scans and I have this X cleaner to clean out my aim but I still have problems, my IE is 6.0, I am low on RAM that could be the problem…
I will try uninstalling it, and yes I have re-installed it many times. Another problem I am having when I recieve an IM and im already talking to someone I cant read the IM and it overlaps with the other IM I have open.. it’s kinda hard to explain..
Screenshot things that are hard to explain. When you say the IM is just a white screen, are you able to send messages? Do you see text that you are typing? Or is the box completely unresponsive? If the latter is the case and then AIM freezes, it does sound like a RAM issue.
No I cant send messages and I cant see what im typing and I also cant read what my buddy is typing..

Its says I have 248 MB of RAM, it happened again tonight I was trying to open my settings it created a toolbar that said aim settings but the settings didnt show up..
The guy that helped me get my virus off my computer said I needed more RAM so that must be the problem.. How much does it cost to get more RAM?
It’s highly unlikely that a program will fail like this in the event that it doesn’t have enough memory. Windows XP can also allocate “virtual” memory on the hard disk. I would suggest taking a screenshot of the problem and posting it here. You can take a screenshot by pressing the Print Screen key, and then opening up paint and Ctrl+V’ing it, save it as a PNG and attach it to your post. You can take a screenshot of just one window by holding the Alt key when you press Print Screen.
In the event that you want more memory, you will need to figure out several things, which I feel may be over your heard and something you may not want to bother with. Being that you have 256MB now, with an 8MB graphics card, I doubt your computer is even worth upgrading. But if you really wish to go that route, we can. (Note again, that it is unlikely that it will solve your problem)
