Im running aim version 5.9.3702 and have a major problem..every time a message is sent to the comp or i try to send a message out the im freezes and an error screen comes up..the error report says
The error signature is…
Appname: aim.exe
AppVer: 5.9.3702.0
ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180
Offset: 00009e9cI dont know if its a spyware problem (ive run a virus and ad-aware scan and come up with nothing) or a problem with kernel32.dll or whatever..any help would be appriciated cause aim.com is a piece of crap and offers no help at all…Thanks.

January 6, 2005 at 10:57 pm #111289DavidParticipantHave you tried going back to an older version (From http://www.oldversion.com)?
January 7, 2005 at 2:03 am #111292chikenkickerMemberi dont think its 5.9 cause i have 5.9 and i havent run into any problems im not sure what it is though
January 7, 2005 at 2:40 am #111293tylongMemberYea and actually shortly after i posted this, a piece of spyware started acting up which im afraid may be trouble to get rid of (it redirects my internet browers to its homepage and my virus protection acts up, like it detects the 2 same trojan downloaders and deletes them every time i access it) since it does not get picked up by spysweeper, ad-aware, and my virus protection, (coolwebsite.com), i think that may be the problem if it entered through a profile link or sumthin..if any1 has any info or solutions on it they would be much appriciated.

It should fix your problem right away. You also may need to use HijackThis to fix it als but be very careful with it, you should search Google for a list of file to remove from HijackThis’ list.
January 7, 2005 at 5:30 am #111290Someguy03MemberWhat is the actual name of the spyware? Do you know? And I would suggest trying a free trial of Norton Anti-Virus 2005 from Symantec and trying Microsoft’s new Spyware-Remover to solve your problem.
