Can anyone tell me how to remove a file that can’t be found for yahoo messenger? When I try to delete the yahoo messenger it says it couldn’t be deleted cuz it couldn’t find “Install.Log file” I did a search found nothing and cant get rid of it…..Help:confused:
June 10, 2009 at 9:56 pm #174948Doris KenneyParticipantI’d suggest downloading RevoUninstaller. Use this to uninstall instead of going through Add/Remove programs.
Once you start RevoUninstaller, it will populate a screen with all your programs. Choose Yahoo and click uninstall. It will ask for what level you want to look for with regard to files that may be left over. Choose #4. Then go ahead with the uninstall.
Revo will first scan for all the files/folders/entries it can find for Yahoo. Then it will attempt to use the built in un-installer to remove it. If this fails it will continue and Revo looks to see if there are any remaining files, folders and registry entries on your machine. If so you will be given the lists of what remains. Choose Select All on each of the final screens and Delete for anything it finds.
This is a great program, especially for times when the built-in un-installer of a program fails to remove it. As long as you can see the program in Add/Remove programs you can use Revo to get rid of it. I’ve used it several times for failed un-installs, always with great results.

June 10, 2009 at 10:39 pm #174945DoeZMemberCool…will both of these site be helpful for other removals of programs that dont fully uninstall?
June 10, 2009 at 10:48 pm #174950Doris KenneyParticipantRevoUninstaller will as long as the program can be seen in Add/Remove programs. In many cases, when a program does not un-install properly, you can’t launch it, but the icon still remains annoyingly in Add/Remove programs. Revo is great in these cases! I actually use it for all my un-installs since it does such a good job of getting rid of leftover files, folders and registry entries. It doesn’t always find 100% of everything but it does a far more thorough job than a typical built-in un-install only.
It’s important to note that Revo attempts to use any built in un-installer as a part of the process, but when this isn’t successful it allows you to continue and forcibly remove it. It also tends to show you far more programs that you have on your machine than those which appear in the typical Add/Remove programs.
I’ve been using it for several years and it’s something I’d not be without. I’ve not used Dermot’s YRemover personally but if Ven0m recommends it for removing Yahoo specifically, then you can rest assured it will do the job!

June 10, 2009 at 11:13 pm #174949Doris KenneyParticipantYou are more than welcome. Please let us know if you have any further problems with the uninstall. 🙂
June 11, 2009 at 6:41 pm #174943DoeZMemberOk…I trid to install that revouninstaller and it wouldn’t let me…a window popped up during the install saying something about win32…now what?
June 11, 2009 at 7:02 pm #174947Doris KenneyParticipantIf you are unable to install RevoUninstaller it sounds like you have something more going on with your machine. Have you been having any other problems and are you able to tell me exactly what that Win32 error says?
June 11, 2009 at 9:10 pm #174942imported_Ven0mMemberAre you using a 64-bit version of Windows?
