Help with disconnect/reconnect issues, please

Hi everybody

I have been constantly disconnecting from AIM versions above 5.2… but I can stay connected to anything below 5.2 for weeks on end.

Does anyone know what the difference is in the versions that could possibly be causing me to disconnect so often? and if there is something different, can it be replaced or removed, modded?

now you might ask me why don’t I just stick with an older version of AIM, well I rely on direct IM and send file as well as talk, which do not like to connect between older and newer versions of AIM.

Is there some way to get an older version of aim to work with some of the latest versions?

I tried to replace the aimtalk.dll and send file application from AIM 5.9 into AIM 5.0 but that would not work either

I’m using Trillian now and I stay connected just fine, but I am using an old IBM and Trillian is taking up A LOT of its resources, so thats why I’m really trying to get AIM 5.9 to work

I’m out of ideas any suggestions?
