I recently installed BETA 7.0 to check it out. After signing in I had a problem each time I clicked on the status button to change it, right clicked a name in my list, or clicked any drop down button, Messenger instantly shut down and closed. I figured it was a BUG in 7.0. I uninstalled it, rebooted and reinstalled 6.0……only to find NOW I have the same problem with it!!! Has anyone had this problem before, and if so, how do I fix it?
Thanks
Welcome to BBB,
It sounds as if maybe somthing went wrong with the 7.0 download. Possibly corrupting the yahoo folder. When you uninstalled 7.0 did you manually delete the “Yahoo!” folder in Program Files? Or did you just unistall it using add/remove programs? If you didn’t delete the “Yahoo!” folder I would do a uninstall again and delete the “Yahoo!” folder (note this will erase any achieved messages unless you back them up). Also do a reboot before installing again. Hopefully that will fix the problem…
That is what I thought too….I did all that and still…..same problem….Cannot figure this one out.
Are you running WindowBlinds or AlienGUIse? If you are this could be doin it. I know there is a setting to exclude a program inside of Windowblinds.
Yes!!! I AM running window blinds! Let me try to exclude it and see what happens…..
Wow!!! ToeBee I owe you!!!!! You are DA BOMB!!! It was Windowblinds that was the problem. I excluded Yahoo Messenger and voila!….No more problem!!!!
THANKS!!!!
lol im glad we could figure it out 😉
