Are you using Vista? If so, it may just be UAC.
June 3, 2008 at 12:05 am #169855Holdem185MemberYea I meet all the system requirements and no I dont have Vista..
June 3, 2008 at 1:21 am #169854YahooliganMemberHas it ever worked for you, or is this the first time you’ve tried to run or install the game?
June 3, 2008 at 9:50 pm #169856Holdem185MemberIt has worked for me before.. But on my add or remove programs it shows it being installed and everything but when I go to remove it, its still on the list..
June 4, 2008 at 2:17 am #169847GandalfMemberWhat is it you are trying to do? Do you want to uninstall it? Do you want to install it? Or is it already installed and you just want to play it?
June 5, 2008 at 12:13 am #169857Holdem185MemberIts installed and I want to play it..
June 5, 2008 at 12:34 am #169846Jeff HesterKeymasterOk, so it’s already installed. It used to work, but now it doesn’t. What happens when you launch from the Start > Programs menu rather than by inserting the CD?
June 5, 2008 at 12:55 am #169849June 5, 2008 at 1:14 am #169858Holdem185MemberIt cant run without the Cd.. and I went to that link but I got confused and just deleted the whole RCT2 Folder is there a way I can go back like a rollback or something?
June 5, 2008 at 8:19 am #169852sarahtownyMemberHad a look around for you here is a patch I found, says it’s for people that have trouble loading the game, even if they do have RCT2 so worth a try:
RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 2.8 patch
Fingers crossed ;0)
June 5, 2008 at 9:31 pm #169859Holdem185MemberOmg thank you so much im about to play it now to see it works! Thanks again 🙂
June 5, 2008 at 9:38 pm #169853sarahtownyMemberI have my fingers crossed let me know if it works … lets be positive it will work!
Enjoy your game :0)
June 5, 2008 at 10:00 pm #169860Holdem185MemberWell I got it downloaded and I thought it was loading and it asked me for a path name or something so I read the readme and this is what it said and I kinda need help with it.. This patch specifically addresses issues users may be having with the
SecuRom copy protection included with the game. If the game fails to
run after being installed, particularly immediately after the cursor
on-screen briefly turns into an animated CDROM, this patch may address
that issue.
Note that this patch addresses NO other gameplay issues. If you are
able to launch the game now, you do not need this update.
Installation Instructions:
Using your favorite .ZIP program, unzip the RCT2.EXE file into the
folder you installed Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 to. By default, this is
C:Program FilesInfogrames InteractiveRollerCoaster Tycoon 2. If you
installed into a different folder, be sure to extract to that folder, or
extract into a temporary folder and copy the files into that folder.June 5, 2008 at 11:06 pm #169851DavidParticipantExtract the file and copy the resultant files into the game directory. You may have deleted something previously that broke it though, so I would suggest doing a re-install before you apply the patch.
