High speed internet

Hey, I have a question. Alright I will be getting DSL High Speed Internet next week and I was wondering do I need to change my Internet connections on messenger or will MSN messenger detect the connection speed because I had dial up for like a 2 years so I don’t know if MSN messenger will work prop when I get DSL. I am running messenger 6.1 on windows xp pro. Let me know if I need to change my settings on messenger. Thank You. laterz
