Hello Pacific,
Try to right click “userinit.exe” under the processes tab and choose “End process tree” and see if that fixes your problems. I do not think “userinit.exe” is suppose to run under a normal user’s computer unless you are on a network that needs to run scripts and stuffs…blah =P
And also end the “prjmensagem” program from the Application tab and notice to see what disappered in the processes tab.
May 29, 2005 at 9:51 pm #114631OreoMemberI ran hijack this and I did not think I found anything, I ran it past a friend of mine (a VERY smart one) and he did not know if these two files were bad or not….any help??? Thanks.

acs.exe: http://www.google.com/search?q=%22acs.exe%22May 29, 2005 at 10:37 pm #114632OreoMemberI know google’s my friend…I did not include that I had already SEARCHED google…considering that is something that I would do before posting here. Anyone with information on those or this little gem” O1 host:64.91.255.87 http://www.dcsresearch.com” The google searches have not really given me any definite information. I just don’t want to erase anything that might be needed.

I’m sorry Oreo, but I thought a team leader would have more patience and would actually investigate posts before slanting them down. I’ll try to make everything in my post more clear, so hopefully you will change your point of view.My post contains two links. The first link brings Google results of which the first result is a page that displays this information:
rsvp – rsvp.exe – Process Information
Process File: rsvp or rsvp.exe
Process Name: Microsoft RSVPDescription:
rsvp.exe is a process which handles Quality of Services between client and server for audio and video streaming applications. This program is non-essential process to the running of the system, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

ACS – ACS.exe – Process Information

The third result on Google suggests it’s part of the driver package for D-Link wireless lan cards (or other Atheros based cards), but there is no definitive answer.
If you don’t have such a network card, I would suggest making a backup of the file and then deleting it. If anything breaks, it’s needed. 🙂
May 30, 2005 at 11:12 am #114634OreoMemberHmmm, yeah, I’ll take a lecture about patience from you, Hee hee hee…aren’t you silly! Still, all the same…again…I was looking for a more definitive answer…and again…that’s not as definitive as I wanted. Thanks all the same. Anyone else have more info?

I’m not attempting to start a fight here, neither should you.Oreo wrote:Still, all the same…again…I was looking for a more definitive answer…and again…that’s not as definitive as I wanted. So what are you looking for? First you ask for information about certain executable files on your system and I give it and then suddenly it’s not good, so I give you even more details about the files and now it’s not good also again. Do you need me to hold your hand while you navigate to your C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32 folder, select the files and press the Delete button?May 30, 2005 at 1:21 pm #114635OreoMemberWho’s starting a fight or insulting?? Please don’t take my posts wrong…this is getting way off topic. I just want an answer…I want to know exactly what they are…not what they could be and I added extra information…if anyone has read my post and has the answers I’m looking for…I’m all ears…or is that eyes?? 😀
May 30, 2005 at 4:03 pm #114638TigerbladeParticipantQuote:ACS.exe
File Name: ACS.exe
Description:
File acs.exe is possibly installed with the Atheros Wireless LAN chip driver to enable 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity. Normally the file is located at directory “%WinDir%System” or “%WinDir%system32”.like DJ said, if you dont have an Atheros wireless lan card, then you dont need this file. i’d check through your services (start>run>services.msc) and see what you have coming up as automatic, this file is most likely triggered by something in there that you dont need.
as for rsvp.exe, it seems like it may be needed, but i’ve never had it running and never noticed any performance loss. i’d recommend doing the same for this as for what i said above. go through your services and see how many things you dont need. i recommend BlackViper’s guide, usually at http://www.blackviper.com, but it’s been down for a while now for some reason , so here’s an archived version
May 30, 2005 at 6:18 pm #114636OreoMemberThanks Tiger, that’s just what I needed…a way to check for myself that I was not getting rid something I needed or that would screw up my PC. I am always a bit leary of just doing something without checking it out first because I’ve had too many people tell me something only to have it go wrong. I have an Orinoco b/g card….so I don’t know if that’s the same thing as the one above…which is why I’ll do the services thing you mentioned… thanks again!
EDIT/UPDATE: I just wanted to thank you again. I was able to identify what programs I had running and actually was able to pause or start and stop them to see if they were really needed. Also, the links to those sites helped so VERY much. 🙂
