Welcome to the Birthplace of Aviation! Where else but “Gem City” or Dayton, Ohio?
Info
Well, what can I say? We are us. Still, and always will be having a grudge with North Carolina about where flight “really took off” heh heh heh…Us folk are simple, nothing too crazy, we tend to follow what the rest of the peeps do, such as fasion, “what’s in” and other stuff. More info can be found at the city’s site located here!My Take:
Dayton (to me) may look like kinda the tipical “almost big city”, but no. Many things have happened, like flight. On the Bicentenial Flight Celebration, EVERYONE here was celebrating. Of course we are always “fighting” with North Carolina because THEY say they are the birthplace of flight. They just had the right area to test, everything was thought of and developed here. Many things happen here in our town, and that’s what keeps us here. The city officials are always making things look much nicer, and all. When they finish something, it’s always the start of a next.Pictures:
You can see pictures of it here!IM Communities:
Here, sadly AOL/AIM is the most popular :p. MSN/ICQ/GTalk are all like Chinese to us, and Yahoo! comes in at a distant second most popular. Very interesting since the younger kids (6th grade) seem to like Yahoo, but just too many are into AOL Is Manure, I mean AOL Instant Messenger 😉 Most people here who use IM are like the AOL/AIM newbes they are. Very annoying, yes.February 13, 2006 at 9:44 pm #138260sarahtownyMemberwow sounds like an exciting place to be MrEgg! Sarah puts Ohio on her list of places to see!

But no matter how much we “fight”, NC and our car plates will always both say “birthplace of aviation”. Now you know the true story, heh. I’m just surprised you were taught that at school, I mean we have a lot of things relating to the Wright Brothers here too, like Wright Patterson Air Force Base and stuff such as that.
