I have a couple web site domains that I registered and I’m not using them. I figured I’d see if I could sell them? Is there a market for domain names? Where would I list them for sale? Does anyone have any advice for buying and selling domain names?
Basically, I just want to make sure I don’t get screwed in the end.
There is a market for them. However, how marketable they are will depend upon how many people want the domain names you have.
Here’s an article that might help a little and may point you in the direction of some more research on the topic.
My advice would be to research it well before doing anything.
You ca sell in other forum
Thanks patndoris. That article talks about using a domain broker. Is that the best way to go? Can’t I just sell it myself?
@diaadriansyah: Um, where? Anyplace in particular you recommend? There are so many, it would be good to pick one where I can get a good response.
I have used a domain broker to buy a domain that was up for auction due to non-renewal, but I’ve never used one to purchase an active domain name. In my case, I used the bidding services of both SnapNames and NameJet. But again – this was for an expired domain – I don’t know what’s involved when the domain is still valid and active.
You should be able to at least contact them and see what’s involved in using a broker. If nothing else you may be able to gain some info before deciding what you want to do.
There are a few options I can suggest that no one has mentioned yet.
Good luck!
