My daughter tells me she’s upgraded to aol 5.5 – and so have I. However, she and her boyfriend must have added something else because she says she can double click on those on her buddy list who have dimmed to gray, supposedly either idle or off, to see when and for how long they’ve been on. My buddy list only shows people that are off or idle in bright green, and double clicking them doesn’t give me the information it supposedly gives her. Anyone know how this works, getting the information as these kids get, and/or why my names are green instead of gray?
In order to see how long someone has been online or how long they have been idle, all you have to do is either hover over their screename and it will pop up, or look at the person’s profile. The screenames that are idle or offline are the color that they are because of your Windows settings…if you have changed the appearance of Windows, then it will be something other than the default which is grey…hope this helps 🙂
I understand hovering over the screen name, but I’m told by double clicking over a name on the offline list will tell when and how often a person’s been online – so I am told 🙂
It may be that im still running 5.2, but whenever you double click on anyones name, regardless of if they are online or not, it will pull up a new IM…i guess what im saying is i have no idea! :p
dukeb is right, regardless of the status of a screename, if you double click on it a new IM window will open. If you do want to be able to find out who has been on and off in the future, try AIM addons that have logging, such as AIMutation (wich currently works with everything besides the very newest[/b] AIM 5.5)
