July 6, 2004 at 4:17 am #42323Hurricane22491MemberYou mean like, make the word(s) under the icon say different things? Just right-click and select ‘Rename’. I don’t think that’s what you’re talking about, but maybe it is….

this is a bit tedious. I wish they had an option to remove them. I never really thought about it but it would have a much cleaner look.
July 6, 2004 at 7:18 pm #42328confused_amandaMemberI’ve just done this for my desktop items, but is there anyway of renaming the ‘recycle bin’ coz it loks a bit weird with it being the only item with a name underneath it!
July 7, 2004 at 5:21 am #42326f0rbezMemberwell crap I just tried it on the recycling bin and cant undo it. does anyone know how to restore the text to the recycle icon?
July 7, 2004 at 5:24 am #42327f0rbezMembernevermind I fixed it. if you mess with it your bound to have some kind of problems trying to get it back. ill tell you how to change/fix it after I make sure its working ok.
edit:
k in winxp right click on the bin and go to properties. delete the text next to title:if you wanna change back, browse to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClassesCLSID{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}]
in your registry and edit LocalizedString back to “Recycle Bin”if you dont have xp and theres no option to change the title in whatever os your on, then I dont know cause I only have xp to test it on. sorry.
