MemberI was wondering how it’s possible to take your username off of another’s messenger?? I had told someone on my contact list that I didn’t want to talk to him anymore and then the next day he messaged me and stupid me responded – well, while he was talking.. I kept getting bumped off my messenger and a pop-up would appear saying that I was being logged in on another computer (or something like that). He said he wasn’t doing anything, but then told me he had to reboot. Once he logged off.. his username disappeared from my contact list. I don’t know how he did it because I have other people blocked and deleted that I can’t get rid of no matter how much I’d like to. Has anyone got a clue exactly how he did that?? I mean, I’m glad he’s off my list.. but now I’m a little freaked.

MemberAre you using MSN 7 by any chance?
There are tons of MSN hacks out there but I have never heard of this one before. They’re usually harmless so if I were you, I wouldn’t worry a bit.November 6, 2004 at 8:34 pm #104072countryrose
MemberThanks for responding. I don’t have MSN messenger anymore – just Windows messenger – but I think it was MSN 6.2 (?). And, this guy is anything but harmless. The last time I talked to him on Yahoo, he told me he’d traced my IP. Now, what he can do with that… I’m not sure. But, the reason I told him I didn’t want to talk to him anymore is because he told me he used to hack for fun back when he was living in India about 3 years ago. So, like I said – he’s anything but harmless.

MemberHe sounds harmless to me.
Its easy to obtain someone’s IP and there’s absolutely nothing he can do with it. Oh yes…there is one thing you can do with an IP.
You can bluff to those who dont know much about computers.Relax. MSN is a very secure IM program, some Indian dude that talks hard shouldnt be a threat.
By the way, a real hacker never admits that he can hack. 😉

MemberI really hope you’re right because way too many strange things have happened on my computer since ending contact with this man. Could be coincidence and that I’m just paranoid, but this guy is pretty much one can short of a six-pack.. if you know what I mean. Thanks for your help.

MemberThanks – but there’s no need to block and delete him. Like I said in my first post… he took his name off my messenger. I just don’t know how he did it.
