Member-Download skin
-Find your Messenger folder (this is usually C:Program FilesMessenger
-Now add picture into the new folder as lvback.gif don’t change this name
-A message will come up saying that this file already exists. Click yes or would you like to replace the existing file (or words to that effect). Click yes
-Close all the folders you have open, and also close down the MSN messenger. Now re-open your MSN messenger where the new background will appear……EnjoySeptember 5, 2004 at 5:25 pm #38719IMQueen

MemberI have only installed a skin once, and it had an auto-installer so that didn’t help me learn anything. 🙁
I do not know much about installing skins, however I believe the technique Xtreme2K4 showed here was for only changing the background picture in MSN Messengers Main window where you view your contacts. Please correct me if I am wrong though. If I am right, this is not actually changing the skin of MSN Messenger. But like I said, I could be totally mistaken here, and if I am please correct me on this, i’d like to learn too. 😀

MemberMost skins come with automatic installers..it just makes life that much easier. If your skin is just an archived/compressed msnmsgr.exe and msgslang.dll or something, then simply extract those files to the MSN Messenger directory (C:Program FilesMSN Messenger by default), overwriting the non-skinned versions of those files.
To uninstall a skin, simply reinstall MSN Messenger or run the installer again and choose “Repair”.

MemberI can help you there. Go to http://www.mess.be and on the side toolbar somewhere there should be a link to download MSN messenger skins. You choose the one you want and download it! I downloaded the messed skin and I think it’s cool!
Hope this helps
