October 13, 2002 at 10:01 pm #100158PhilMemberfirstly there is a whole section of the forum called AOL Messenger…2ndly, around 15 mins before you, someone posted the exact same topic…so i would advise checking before asking!
October 16, 2002 at 4:13 pm #100156rhiannonMemberOuch, You could be a lil more kinder to a new member.
You were having a bad day again I guess.
I would advise reading under the avatar before putting the boot into a member.October 22, 2002 at 1:13 am #100153Jeff HesterKeymasterhmm this should be in the aim forum shouldnt it?
October 22, 2002 at 5:27 pm #100155Jeff HesterKeymasterNote: I moved this topic to the AIM forum and changed the topic title to something a bit more descriptive than the original title (“AIM”). Please read our posting guidelines before you post topics.
“Cloning” AIM, or running multiple copies of AIM using different screen names is possible in several ways. If you only want to run a couple of screen names, the easiest thing to do is to use one screen name with AIM, and another with AIM Express (the java version of AIM).
You can also run a third-party application like AIM+ from Big-O Software. It lets you run multiple instances of AIM, each with a different screen name.
If you’re willing to try an alternative IM program, Trillian lets you connect to multiple AIM, Yahoo, MSN and ICQ accounts, all with a single instance of their program. It’s very slick, and the most memory-efficient way of logging in with multiple screen names, but it can get confusing (especially if you have a LOT of screen names).
P.S. — Don’t forget to use our forum search next time; this question has been asked before! 😉
October 25, 2002 at 11:30 pm #100159Kar715Membertheres a cool program called aim+. it clones aim. but next time before you post, can you check to see whats been posted before? thanks 😉
March 22, 2003 at 9:24 pm #100154Jeff HesterKeymasterAIM+ appears to have fallen on bad times, since it doesn’t work with AIM 5.x. Check out DeadAIM. It’s awesome.
March 24, 2003 at 3:06 am #100161jasynMemberDeadAIM seems to be really buggy for me. It crashes like 24/7 due to the away message and always when it’s minimized and maximized in systray .. currently i’ve gotten rid of the advertisement using one of those patches i found at the forum .. i was wondering if there were any other cloners out there that isn’t widely known but gets the job done 🙂
March 24, 2003 at 3:47 am #100160SlumMemberThere is a program at AIMFilz.com that says you can clone. Its at the bottom of the page of this Link:

Never used it, I have Dead AIM myself, but it might be what your looking for.

April 20, 2003 at 3:39 pm #100162Thunderacer9989MemberAIM+ is the way i went and i found it really easy to use. If i had to do it again i would use AIM+. My AIM+ works with AIM 5
June 18, 2003 at 4:31 am #100166WYSIWYG7MemberAIM+ doesnt work 4 my aim 5. the features r still there, but there’s no + button on the buddy list, and there’s no AIM+ option on the menu.
June 18, 2003 at 7:48 pm #100165CFNMemberI clone AIM with a program called mICQ (Multi ICQ and AIM maker v7.1) It’s an old program which will basically make another copy of your AOL Instant Messenger directory so you can run another instance of AIM. Unfortunately, the people who made the program (Wegabyte) do not seem to offer it anymore, but have a search on Google and I’m sure you can find it….
